I would take JV, and I dont read too much into wins and losses. Chris sale was 10-14 last year I believe and king felix won the cy with a 13-13 mark I think.

To add to both you and TrustMe.... Fister was like 3-13 when aquired, yet had a ERA right aroun 3.00. Was getting lowest run support in AL and it showed when had some in the D.

Max had like what 5-7 runs support a game last year. At least it seemed.

I agree -- I was just stating he may not match his wins from last year, but his WHIP and ERA are the only things I'm worried about and I think Scherzer will match what he did in 2013.

I love JV and he is still a horse, but I think Scherzer has surpassed him with the quality of his pitches. Verlander has the better curve ball still, but Scherzer gets the nod on the other pitchers, IMO.

Yeah -- that is why I said he probably won't match his wins. Max's numbers from 2013 were very comparable to what JV put up the year he won the MVP. Max had a 0.97 WHIP, Verlander had a 0.92 WHIP, Max had an opp BA of .198, Verlander had an opp BA of .192, Scherzer averaged 10.08 K/9, Verlander averaged 8.96 K/9.

Max is just filthy right now. He has some absolutely dominant pitches. I really hope the Tigers are able to get something done with him, but unfortunately, I don't see how it will be fiscally possible. Hope the Tigers are able to make a run this year and finally get that ring, before he signs with the highest bidder this offseason.

the only reason Stafford put up gaudy yard totals is because he threw the ball like 40 times per game. Stafford has two of the five highest pass attempt totals in NFL history (and also threw 634 in 2013, 17th most of all-time) and is the only QB to ever attempt 700+ passes in a season. He had a shitty 20/17 TD/INT ratio in 2012 (and 2.8% TD rate, that's just horrible). and his yards per attempt stats are very pedestrian.

And Perez has a .250 BABIP right now. Perez had a slow start last year too (he had a line of .267/.281/.372 at the end of April). Perez finished the season at .292/.323/.433. I think he'll be just fine.

I agree 100% Nava... I have never seen him on the Lions board. That homerism would get hammered there. We have 2 total homers and he seems writing this shit he would out do them. Although funny he says no RB's. Bell and Bush are not great, however they put some good tandem numbers together. So not only a homer, but a clueless one!!

Actually, the Lions running backs are good receivers. I think Bell and Bush were the first RB combo in NFL history to each catch 50+ passes for at least 500 yards.

tigers road trip winning 6 of 7. already have a strangle hold on the central. have swept the royals so far for the year.. not a surprise to me. I have said in spring training how easy it would be. but but...that's just being a homer right? its being right and being able to see it for the get go.
