Its because hes fat howie.....i was one of the ones who were happy to get fielder. Imagine our offense with victor protecting miggy this year. Its part of baseball. Sign stars to long contracts. They get bigger and bigger because the owners make more and more every year. Inflation. Imagine contracts in another 10-15 years. 400 million? Besides if the tigers suck in 5 years some desperate team will take him off our hands. While we would pay sumthin still. Thats just the business of baseball. You find bad contracts on every team.

:agree:

That is my only worry. He is very heavy and I think it will catch up with him before the contract is over.

Sure love "Bombs" like that catwalk job last night in Tampa (ok, St. Pete)...

Boy those pitcher's ERA and WHIP took a whupping! Had to be very exciting though. Scores looked more like Browns-Bears!

No kidding, pitching was pathetic.

Soxs put in an outfielder in the 9th of the 1st game. He got his fastball up to 94 and gave up no runs, they need him to start pitching.

I never get too mad at the Twins. We have grown up together. You could say I have accepted losing, but they have won enough to keep me permanent. The 1987 year, defeating the mighty Tigers, the 50,000 who showed in the Dome just to celebrate (I was there), the 4-3 Series wins in 87 and 91 (I went to four games including 91 game 7). When the Twins won in 1987 and 91 it was a shock. Not many saw it coming. The wins erased all the pain of Viking almosts.. well, most of it. Am I happy about usually being in the bottom of salaries, watching other teams outspend us to the playoff wins? No. But I have little power over all that, and for sure, when a small market beats big market - that is my definition of heaven.

You won't last long here. One more complaint or misstep and you're gone so just leave now.

oh vice, you love it. The lady doth protest too much. I would assume outside of the cyber world, you are probably considered a "nice guy", hence your need to act like a jerk on here.

Today is a big day in Twins world. We get a chance to see Mr. Gibson, the highly touted big arm in our farm system, that has taken a little longer to get here than most hoped. With Mr. May also on the horizon, we get a glimpse of our projected future hopes on the mound. There are more, the Twins farm system deeper than most .. Sano and Buxton being the two biggest named bats. We are seven games out with this rag-tag lineup and rotation. We are like 23rd in payroll at 75 mill, but Mauer and Morneau are nearly 1/2 of that. Add Willingham and you have our three highest paid players. All else pale in salary. The FA starters will be gone unless they step up. Deduno is a keeper for sure...

Gibson looked pretty good in his debut. Got the win. Gave up some hits but a lot of singles so it's fine. We really need him to cement himself as a front of the line starter.

Rolling, I know you love Deduno but he is far from a "forsure keeper". Right now he is the only guys pitching solid but there is a reason he's as old as he is. 50/50 chance each game he pitches. Leaving him in too long is also a problem as he implodes. A worse version of liriano really.

Nos, I get what you're saying on Muhammad but while he's not a true SG that is really his spot. I think his potential is better than Pope's its just not his natural fit. I think he could be a real player if his shot holds up. So we'll see.

I agree that Brown was a big time steal late in the draft though.

No answer from Shanie.....he is too busy on the Tiger board. He is crying about the fact that the Tigers have Max Scherzer and the Indians have Ubaldo. Shanie coming across as the 12 year old that he is.

Come on Shano...man up.

I worry about his defense if he has to guard a 2. His shooting is very streaky and he needs to work on his long range shot, I did find it a little weird he had more offensive rebounds than defensive, he also needs to learn how to share the ball, less than 1 assist per game, he had more turnovers than assists and steals combined, if anyone thinks he's gonna step in and average 15 a night they are gonna be disappointed even with Kirilenko leaving that's not happening. There's gonna be some growing pains. I just hope his head is right if it is he will be ok...

The Twins pitching staff has the worst BAA in the game.
The Twins starters have the least amount of quality starts in the game.
The Twins pitching staff has the least amount of strikeouts in the game. (By far)

Getting tired of watching the club throw guys like Pelfrey and Walters out there just to watch them get killed. Andrew Albers is 27 years old and has an era just over 3.00 at Rochester, give him a chance already and lose Pelfrey.

I'd like to lose Pelfrey and Walters.

Tigers were pretty chicken shit today/yesterday. Miggy does Rodney's cele so Rodney pitches high and tight. It was a tie game in the 10th. It was up and in thats it. Calm down.

Then they retaliate with high beanball. I understand Porcello and leyland saying it was a ball that got away to not incriminate but Leyland is a fucking moron. His whole reason for being "upset" was rodney threw high...in the 10th...and didn't bean. Now porcello drills zobrist high?

Guy must have alzheimers.

No disrespect intended but that reminds me of something funny I read somewhere.

I may have alzheimers but at least I don't have alzheimers.
