I don't want to shoot holes in your spring training theory, but the Lions were 4-0 in the preseason and then went 0-16.

I see Minnesota already lost one of their young guns (Sano) to Tommy John surgery and he will miss the entire 2014 season. That sucks for the Twinkie fans.

James Shields doesn't want to talk extension during season

Curious what the Royals fans are thinking? Are they going to get Shields to sign an extension or did they trade away Wil Meyers for a player that will jump ship after 2014? I think to make the trade a success, you would have to give Shields whatever it takes to get him to sign with them, if not, you traded away the top prospect in baseball for what results in a couple year rental. That would suck.

What will Dougy do now that his boy is gone to start the season?

Hopefully Rajah Davis can figure out how to hit RH pitching. In all honesty -- I wouldn't be too upset with Davis starting full time. He gives the team an added dimension they lacked for many years with his speed. Stick at the bottom of the order and let try and bunt his way on base against RH pitching.

Bolded is what will come to pass. They have another top 100 prospect that will play RF more than likely next year in Jorge Bonifacio, but it was still incredibly dumb to trade Myers for a rental. Not for other long term pieces (Davis doesn't count) RENTALS. The saving grace is that the rotation has some highly touted SP prospects nearby with Ventura and Zimmer.

Kelly is my favorite player tbh. Still have been disappointed a few times when I get to the park and realize he's leading off and playing center. Ausmus will hopefully utilize him properly.

Sorry brotha. Just didn't want to you to fall into the Lions category of false sense of hope, where we look like heroes in the preseason and then get smacked back to reality in the regular season.

Look at it like this -- at least you aren't a Lions fan. We don't even know what it is like to be in the Super Bowl. Last time we made the NFL championship game -- the Super Bowl didn't even exist.
