How did detroit lose their top 2 power hitters? Miggy is still there.

Trust me....im worried about losing prince. Our 5-9 hitters wont scare anyone....alot of fans hoping for raji davis to be the man. Lets just hope he can get on when he does play.

If other teams were smart....they will pitch around miggy and make vmart beat them....im thinking miggy walks alot and vmart hits into a ton of DP's.....but detroit will find a way to score and starting pitching will help them win a weak division.

I dont think the sox will be as bad as some think....sale is a beast....abreu is key....if he hits, they will take 3rd place.....eaton will help as the leadoff man....dunn ramirez and beckham all have the chance to turn it around......and they got lil miggy....but i still hate them....

Wonder if the sox get good if any sox fans will ever show up.....havent seen a sox fan since cbs with itsjustagame. Chicago has the biggest band wagon fans out there....except for the cubs.....when i first moved here in 06 you couldnt find blackhawk stuff....was all sox and bulls.....now you see hawks crap being sold on every corner and EVERYONE is a hawk fan.

I don't know, on another board I post on, I see at least 3 White Sox fans regularly. Wouldn't mind seeing non-troll fans be added to this thread.

Abreu is done. Honestly I can see any team in the division placing two through fifth.

Vegas doesn't think the AL Central is going to be too close this year. They have Detroit at 89.5 for wins. KC is second at 81.5 and the rest of trailing by quite a bit.

I think it will be a good race with KC, but Detroit just has too much starting pitching. If Verlander pitches like he did down the stretch and Scherzer pitches anywhere near like he did in 2013 -- Detroit will be tough on anyone they play.

That being said -- Detroit has a completely different look in their lineup. I think in 3 spring training games, they have more stolen bases than last year's team combined. :laugh3:

Going to be an interesting year to watch, as Detroit went from a softball team with poor defense and transformed into a team with solid defense and can run, but now they will lack in the power sans Cabrera.

Did you forget Miggy. Play last 2 months with core muscle injury?
So power numbers overall won't be down.
Biggest question tigers will have to face.....will they not pitch to miggy??
We seen this happen just a few times. I don't know why teams do pitch to him.

Royals projected win totals with 47.7 = Replacement team

Vegas' projections can kiss my ass.

Oliver: 83.8

Zips: 86.0

Steamer: 89.7

Avg: 86.5

We should put together a predictions thread right before the season starts so everyone can make their predictions for the final records and order of finish for the central...

lol hockey is back. Dougy probably don't care since the wings suck ass but...

Wild...easy shut out.

Sharks...put up a causal 7 goals. A hatty for the Big Pavelski(second this year) and 2 goals for Torres in his first two games. Just think if we had him all year? And Havlat?

O and Hertl....And couture.

Loaded squad. Health is the question. Dougy, you can hope aboard the wagon anytime though

Who's everyone's breakout performer for each team in the Central?

Mine for the Indians is Yan Gomes, he was clutch and times and is a young, power
hitting talent at catcher.

My heart wants to say Castellanos. My head says he will struggle as a full-time 3B, and it will affect his hitting in 2014. Long-term, he'll still be a solid major leaguer.

This may be wishful thinking, but I look for Bruce Rondon to be the Tigers primary setup man for Nathan, and have a very productive season. After struggling early last year and being sent down in May, he had a 1.50 ERA in about 30 innings for Toledo. Then after being recalled in late June by the Tigers, his ERA was in the 2's the rest of the season. And he showed up to camp this season 30 pounds lighter. He has the potential to be a beast with that 100 mph fastball, decent slider and a developing change-up.
