Say it isn't so. It isn't just the Royals we have to listen to about the farm system. It is now the Twins too?!?!

Maybe the Twins and Royals could battle on who will be the first to say -- Wait till next year in 2014.

When you have a minor league system as stacked as ours, there is reason to be excited for 2015 and beyond.

Congrats on a stacked minor league system. Maybe you should change the team name to the Minnesota Royals.

Yeah, because cheap players that don't cost 25M/year are not worth talking about. Please... The future is inevitably intertwined with the present. If the Tigers don't restock the farm, the window is going to close at some point. That is all there is to it, period. It is impossible to restock a ML roster with money alone.

With that being said, anyone engaging in excessive prospect fetishism is being equally ridiculous and doesn't really understand how often prospects "fail."

Is my assumption of "more often than not," correct?

I assume you are referring to the misplaced belief of many that all their top prospects pan out? We have a pretty hefty amount of evidence to support the notion that most prospects (and yes, the shiny top prspects, too) fail. Not too long ago the Royals had the "Best farm system in the history of rating farm systems (woo...)." which included guys Like Dwyer, Lamb, Montgomery, Ordorizzi, Moustakas, Hosmer, Cain, and Myers as prospects. Well, can you tell me what happened to all the pitching prospects I bolded? I'll be waiting. Well, the only pitching prospect at that time who could maybe do something worth his salt at the ML level now is Duffy; and his struggles up to this point are well documented. There was a reason Shields was traded for...

Pitching prospects are even more of a crap shoot than position players.

Yes, that misplaced belief.

Hochevar has atleast panned out as a reliever. Rick Porcello and Jeff Weaver are probably tied for third best Tigers 1st round pick of the last thirty years. (Im going back to Travis Fryman.). And that's settling with Tony Clark being second.

HAHAHA, that is so witty, I guess we should stop talking about the Twins farm system and talk more about all those recent Tigers Championships, ok you start...

If you really want to, I guess we can. The Tigers won the AL Central the last 3 years and they were the AL Champs in 2006 and 2012.

Alright -- now it is your turn.

I agree -- that is why it helps that Detroit had the youngest roster in the AL Central with an average age of 26.8 in 2013 and the oldest starting pitcher we have is Verlander at 30.

You'd think -- with all the talk about the farm systems -- Detroit would be one of the oldest teams in baseball, but it is the opposite. Detroit ranked in the top 10 for youngest teams in the MLB.

Alright -- now it is your turn.

The Twins won the division 3 straight years on 2 straight occaisions.

And guess what? No championships on either side.

What is it that you are trying to argue? Or do you not even know?
