doug was really on the mark yesterday. First he said the Wolverines were going to slam Iowa. Final score: Iowa 24, UM 21.

Then he told us to 'book it' that Peralta would be playing third for the Tigers in 2014. Peralta promptly goes out and signs with the Cardinals.

If doug tells me that the Earth is round....I'm joining the Flat Earth Society.

Chiefs OLB depth got exposed badly. Secondary can't cover forever... especially when we use Berry as a linebacker (lol). What is sad is Berry was our sole source of pass rush today after Hali and Houston got hurt.

This. And since when was "60+ ribbies" worth mentioning? Seems kind of arbitrary. I guess the Red Sox will miss Stephen Drew's 6 stolen bases.

Peralta did have a 105 OPS+ in a Tiger uniform, which for a SS is good. He also had an OPS+ of 122 in 2011 and 119 in 2013.

And the Cardinals starting SS hit .217 with an OPS+ of 54 (46% worse than league average), so I guess they were willing to overpay for a one-dimensional upgrade.

yup. In some cases, having a higher OBP than SLG% can be a good thing (see Max Bishop; Rod Carew did it a few times (later in his career though), surprisingly Boggs only did it once). But not when your OBP is .275.

No way is Peralta a 53 million dollar a year guy! He hit .239 in 2012? He is a limited range SS that is prone to the DP. He helped Detroit but I could not see him scoring that deal!

Have to appreciate the deal Dave D pulled off to get Inglesias. The SS position is a barren desert. Not much out their and Detroit has a solid defensive guy under team control.
