There is no way in shit a team would take Hosmer over Fielder.

Hosmer will probably be a better long run option. But right now it really isn't even close.

what cracks me up is -- he doesn't realize 1st base is a power position and Hosmer is lacking in that department, having never hit 20 homeruns in a season and only having more HRs than ONE 1B in the entire AL that is an everyday player and is ranked 9th in RBI's.

Fielder more doubles, more HR, more RBI, more walks, higher OBP, higher SLG

I couldn't agree more -- Hosmer is a better slap hitter than Fielder and runs faster.

You seemed to have missed a few categories though -- Fielder has more total bases, more extra base hits and has a much better average with RISP and RISP with 2 outs.

You can have the 1st baseman with more singles -- I'll take the 1st baseman with more HRs, more doubles, more RBI's, a higher OBP, a higher slugging %, a higher OPS, and hits better with runners in scoring position.

If you are going to be a 1st baseman who hits a lot of singles -- you had better hit like Joe Mauer and have a .400 OBP like Joe Mauer. If not -- you have better have some power somewhere else in your lineup or you will end up watching the playoffs from home, which is what KC will be doing.
