Everything I've heard is they want a vet WR back. That's the most important thing. 49ers probably asked for McLaurin or Dotson and picks. If that's the case I'm glad Peters walked.

Higgins and Diggs will hopefully still be available this off-season.

I’m ok with a third and a fifth, but the 49ers would get a late third back as compensation, just a year later. They’re not moving him unless it’s for their price, and I don’t think Peters is willing to meet that.

It's still an ongoing process and one that hasn't yet been resolved. Perhaps, Adam Peters is as smart as advertised and is allowing the market determine a lowered cost to acquire him, knowing that BA wanted to play here or in Pittsburgh. While there are reports that the Steelers are making serious moves, don't be surprised if there's a near future headline... "In a surprise move, Washington lands Aiyuk"
