Does the asking price for BA go down b/c he wants out?
Schefter says 49ers have no intention of trading Aiyuk. I don't think if affects the asking price. Josina Anderson is reporting the Pats called and we're turned down.

Still think it's going to take a 1st or a 2nd plus. I think everyone is still waiting to see if Aiyuk skips camp.

If you are a 49ers fan, what would you want in return?

it depends. What if he holds out and puts up a big stink that he wants to be traded. I don't think he cares about winning or he would want to stay in SF. He cares more about being paid right now. The organization and fans might get fed up and deal him. They drafted replacements for him.

Payne and a second works
I'm not sure if Payne is tradable this year. I think we would take a massive cap hit. There are some posters on here that know how the cap works better than me.

Someone on the radio suggested a #2 and Luke.

If I'm the 49ers I want a 1st. If I'm the Skins, I'm offering a 2nd.

Payne would be my target and Washington can afford the cap hit since they are expected to have 100m next season with carryover.

i am not giving up the younger payne over the older allen . the cap hit to trade payne is high and why just take cap hits for no reason ? BA is under contract this year and is subject to the franchise tag after that so you risk losing him after 2 yrs , adding in possible drama of not having a new deal . this isnt the NBA . the CBA doesnt lend itself to sign and trade deals as some think it does as it violates the " good faith " clause for negotiating NFL contracts as i have posted

the right move for this team is take said roll over money and apply that to a tee higgins contract next year and by god keep our resources (draft and player ) and assess what we have this year . building a team is a process and some of you want to skip that aka like snyder did . for the love of god give the new ownership team and FO a chance to build the team correctly into a long term contender and stop settling for "better then before "

it is undisputed that 1/2 of all FA signings fail . the draft is where you build a team and replace parts cheaply allowing you to hold on to franchise qbs and star players i.e. difference makers and make runs at players who put you over the top .

Schefter says 49ers have no intention of trading Aiyuk. I don't think if affects the asking price. Josina Anderson is reporting the Pats called and we're turned down.
He also says that because the 49ers and Patriots have a long history of trades (Draft pick that got Jerry Rice.) and the Patriots potential finish regardless in 2024, the Patriots are first in line.

Then he said something else. Patriots will give up 2024 2nd round pick that will be #33, #34 or #35 and a 2027 4th that will become a 3rd if Aiyuk exceeds 1000 yards receiving in 2024. Excuse me?? How would he ever come up with that?? Unless????

A second scenario was thrown out after Schefter spoke by a Boston media guy. Same as above only, in addition, the Patriots give the 49ers WR Kendrick Bourne who came to NE from the 49ers.

There is some Devonte Adams for Aiyuk smoke out there, but I didn't post it because I'm not familiar with the source.

I've kinda moved on from this story. I only post on this subject from time to time just to pass information along.

The 49ers have stated repeatedly that they have no interest in trading Aiyuk, but there are two big caveats that go along with that positioning. Those two are 1st round pick Ricky Pearsall and 4th round selection Jacob Cowing who represent insurance policies in the event that the 49ers' receiving corps loses one of its top weapons. ( they anticipated this because they also have to pay Purdy next year) If one or both prove that they can adequately fill in for Aiyuk or Deebo, during camp, or preseason that reluctance to trade goes away and the 49ers WILL become active traders. (49ers veterans report to camp on July 23rd)
