That sucks. The Beagle on the right in my Avi got a brain tumor last summer and had to be put down. He was only 6.

She went blind first (a couple years earlier)... not sure if it was related as the specialist said her retina's became detached, but who knows for certain... but she still got around the house as though she had perfect vision. Amazing how she adapted.

Then last September she had a seizure... another in October and another in November before a cluster of them on New Year's Eve. Doctor said it "could" be epilepsy but wasn't sure wihout a CT Scan... well, that's a $1,500.00 deal, and for what? For them to tell me my dog has a brain tumor and is terminal?

She was put on anti-seizure meds first of January and I had to have her put down first of February. Very difficult thing to go through, for sure.

Damn that sucks. My pit had a very invasive surgery in 2010 he is now 11. Every day is a bonus!

That's great, Cowboy! People who don't own (owned) animals wouldn't understand... and I don't care to try and explain other than to say they are part of the family.

Here, Uno... I'll throw you a bone...

They are currently having a very moving service for the MIT police officer who was killed by the two bombers...

Figured you'd like to mock his life and his death and tell us all what an overhyped Boston thing it all is.

Annnnnd go..

Thats right! He was 8 years old but dropping 4700 wasnt even an option. It was the only thing to do.

Yours was dragging out it sounds. Jax woke up blind the end of May, started having seizures towards the end of June. Then his organs started failing beginning of July.

It sucks to ever lose one, but even worse when they are that young.

Rock will only talk to those who agree with him

Which basically leaves the anonymous posters who send him emails that 100% corroborate what he's been saying

I had a beagle growing up. He was a runt too all spotted up.

My wife has already told me that when my 2 shepherds go we will only own Beagles from now on. After losing Jax last year she went out and got a Beagle Min Pin mix.

That's the one thing still haunting me (age).

I had a Shepard mix growing-up and he lived to be almost 16. Then my first Boston Terrier lived to be 13 1/2 and didn't visit the vet more than every couple of years for vaccinations... at 12 1/2 he developed a heart murmur and was gone a year later.

My second Boston was not quite 8 and such a good dog... having her go at a relatively young age made it 100x worse.

At different points on SportsHoopla, I've "blocked" Down, Snoogins, Cowboy, heck even Uno, probably others that I'm forgetting

Nothing even remotely against those posters - sometimes there's long winded 40 paragraph e-fights going on that I know I won't be reading or responding to, so it just unclogs my pages. I do the same, and wouldn't blame anyone if they wanted to put my posts on ignore for a while.

I don't make a huge deal about it, I highly doubt the person that I "ignored" gives a rats ass, and I usually take it off after it appears the topic has moved on

Point is, the ignore feature sometimes has practical purposes. In Rock and Snoogins case, it just serves as a mechanism to pretend that you don't care, while still showing everyone in your posts how much you do

ignore....it's the new strike through!!!!
