i dunno...limit his minutes. not many big men out there who can grab rebounds. he was definitely on the slide last year, but he still averaged almost 12 and 8 a game in the lowest minutes of his career. first time under 31.4.

hard to believe hes only 36...coming off a bad year in SA. he'd be perfect here for this team short term.

With what money? With the Hayward signing they are at the cap limit. Only way that they get someone else would be for them to dump a bunch of other players (beyond the ones that they got rid of to sign Hayward). Even if possible - probably not worth it to sign someone like Gasol for the short term.

The real upside for the Celtics is how they will be positioned for 2018/19 & beyond. Let's be real - nobody is going to take down the Warriors next season barring major injuries so why go crazy just for next season?

According to this article they are still scrambling to make room for Hayward. Oh well - they have plenty of weapons now & could be one of the few true contenders over the next several years especially after next offseason.

As a Pau Gasol fanboy from even before he was a Laker, I would hate seeing him in Celtic green.

However, if the C's could get him, that would be a huge get. He would fit in really well. He's a great locker room guy, brings championship experience.

He's getting a little long in the tooth, but he could really make some positive contributions playing about 18-22 minutes per game. Especially when the playoffs start.

Celtics need some CAP room for signing IT and then probably two more lottery picks next year. Thats going to be $40M total my guess. Yes they can go over IF they sign IT first but Gasol is just too rich imo. The only other topic would be trading Horford which I am against. Its Marc they are discussing not Pau

Pau would want a $15m times 2 years deal. Dont see it being good for us especially at his age. Here is two very interesting trades:

1. Okafor- Yup I said it. You could trade Smart and pieces and get him back as a big. Okafor is a piece you could see if it fits and if not his deal is up in a year. Celts could free enough in that to make cap work
2. Porzingis - Yup, dare I say it but Porzingis money deal really works for the Celts. They would need to give up smart, and three round 1 picks. Seems crazy but numbers work
