without direct evidence a lesser charge is likely where the prosecution does not need to convict based on beyond a reasonable doubt. I figured it was probably heading in that direction. Unreliable witnesses and no weapon are not a good thing in a trial.

Aren't all charges based on beyond a reasonable doubt?

I mean the standard for proof is lower in civil court but at this point I think unless the prosecution has had the murder weapon this whole time then Aaron Hernandez walks free and wins a substantial amount of money from the state.

Yeah, even if the prosecution doesn't think it can get him on murder and goes with something else, you still have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he's guilty of whatever they DO end up charging him with.

With the current evidence there is about a 0% chance this guy gets convicted.

I think they have more than anyone knows. The only reason they didnt start the prosecution on the Odin case , is they are trying to button up the double murders in Boston. He'll do life is my bet.

The 3 other guys they arrested gave up Aaron for pleas before they even put the lamp on them

Has the State released all the details of the evidence against him?

I am too lazy to google it right now.

No why would they, and give the Defense time to work on their strategy.

Sorry Sonny, but the testimony of the other 3 guys ain't worth shit. Not one of them has any credibility and all 3 have a strong motive to impugn the reputation of said thug gangbanger from the "University of Thug Gangbangers".....as an effort to save their own slimy hides.

I think Hernandez is a murderer, but based on the evidence............at this point, I have a hard time envisioning the State of MA getting a murder 1 conviction.

Odin Loyd: "I felt helpless when Arron was standing over me with a gun."

Yeah, fuck Hernandez but I wouldn't fault the defense for setting up this tact.

Rex when they interrogated all 3 individually, and they all gave the exact same statements, its tough to refute. Why should they do the rest of their life in prison for an crazy psychopathic friend. Aaron had no reason to kill any of them, he's mentally unstable and a mass murderer. There were some "accidental deaths to known associates of his in Bristol Ct. I believe his big fat dyke looking cousin's husband was one of these.

When your being grilled for up to 14 hrs, lies breakdown and stories change unless truthful from get go.

You do kind of feel helpless when you can't shoot the person (cop) that you are upset with. Yes, upset is a adequate level to shoot someone, as he allegedly shot someone who accidently spilled his drink on Hernandez and AH got upset. Maybe he didn't "adequately" apologize for his mistake. Rolls eyes.

Shoot, I hope my eye rolling doesn't put me on their hit list. ;)

Aren't they specifically required to by law?

I believe the defense can gather all the info the Police have but I'm far from being a lawyer. Usually the AG's office and the defense have investigators working on any witnesses, evidence etc to help their case with evidence
