All part of negotiating. I'm sure Suh has no plans to leave the Lions, either.

D'You guys actually still listen to what the Lions front office says? ("I think this will be one of, if not the most attractive head coaching opportunity in the National Football League........ I think......, I can verify that by the number of calls I've gotten since the announcement...")

I know the other two's real big numbers aren't this year, but that's still a lot money in three guys.

I know it's better than making up scenarios and shit on our own. There's a lot of hypotheses floating around on here, and 95% of them I never finish reading.

Im not saying it's completely true, but why does it seem so far fetched? I mean, wouldn't u want to keep your best defender?

Hence our cap issues.

I've been through about half the league and the next highest I've seen so far are Baltimore and Pittsburgh at about 40 each on their top 3.

I'm curious how you pay Suh with those other two contracts. Neither can realistically be cut either. Stafford's at 27 mil dead next offseason then 11 after that, and Calvin's at 20 and 12.

Dallas has 50 mil dead money on romo lol.

Looking at the numbers I almost think you have to trade him. You'll still take almost the full hit this year, but it saves 10 mil next year and I just don't see how you can afford to take that 10 million of dead money, plus a new contract, plus pay stafford 17 and megatron 20 next year. He can't be easy to let go, but the numbers just don't seem to add up to me.

This entire franchise is a fucking joke and so long as Millenhew is leading the way it always will be.

After we trade away most of our picks to draft a #3 WR and pay a huge premium to a DT who you could VERY easily make the argument is no better than the third best in the league then what??

As soon as the draft is over Suh's agent should ask for more $. I won't even speculate on what amount they are asking for, doesn't even matter, come Friday morning it's $5m/yr higher and there isn't a damn thing the Lions can do about it A trade was the only leverage at all the Lions had and without that they have none.

How would the offseason look to everyone on here had they not lucked into a $10m cap increase? Think long and hard about that cause it's going to have to be the offseason plan for this cesspool of a team for the next few years. Instead of actually managing better we will just pray for cap increases.

Nope, it's not. Those two are lying retards. We're just retards. I prefer honesty in almost all situations.

I'm curious what compensation you'd want for Suh. I'd pretty happily give up the equivalent of a mid first rounder for him (CBA with the chart, for NE this would obviously be multiple picks, including our first), but I couldn't see going much higher when you're over a barrel cap wise.

I know losing him would be painful, but keeping him will be too.

A first rounder would be nice. But Im thinking we'll get a second this year and a lower pick next year. Every team knows Mayhew basically has to deal him. Can't keep him after throwing money at a mediocre QB the way he did.

Teams could low-ball Detroit with Suh because they know the situation too. A few teams may be willing to offer something good but those same teams may be willing to sit back and watch Lions kill themselves or wait for Suh to come available to them after this year.

If that's all it takes I really hope bill jumps all over him. The thought of Suh, Wilfork, and chandler jones on a line makes me jizz in my pants.

The most important thing that came out of that press conference was the status of Houston. It doesn't look good. Millenhew said the team is 'exploring medical options,' and he didn't seem very happy about it.
