That would be bad for the Yankees, Ellsbury's one of their best players.

Fans have been waiting for the Orioles to "regress to the mean" ever since Buck came along... first it was "luck" in one-run ball games... now its "lucky" pitching... I'd venture to say there's some aspects that the Sabermetrics don't really capture. That is, defense - for one (that's why the pitching staff's numbers appear "lucky," IMO). Also, there's something to be said for the type of person/player that the Orioles have been targeting in recent years. Guys who love the game and fight to the death. Anyone who didn't fit that mold has been let go.

I know fans and pundits are in awe with Sabermetrics anymore, but there should be some investigation by these folks on why the ZiPs and other projection systems have consistently and vastly underrated the Orioles every year for the past 3-4 years...

Yanks start off their season with 6 @ home against the Jays & Sox

A 4-2 week would be a nice start

Looks like the Orioles and Redsox are the early Favorites in the AL East?

Depends on who you are talking to. The MLB TV preview show stated that any of the five teams could win and. any of them could finish last. I disagree and think the Rays have last wrapped up, the other four should be fighting til the end with the winner having about 87 wins.

Sounds about right to me. Rays have no shot whatsoever.

The Sox need to play Brock Holt at 3b - not that overweight Panda!

Panda will come around ... but with him coming into camp looking like a stuffed turkey .. then throwing his former team under the bus .. he's not winning over this fan coming out of the gate. I was suspect of this signing from the start, but I do think he'll be a decent player over the long haul.

Holt's not that good. He was horrendous in the 2nd half last year. He's fine in his utility role.
