You can assume if he puts the ball in play he has a much better chance of getting on base than if he strikes out. And as noted, Mike Napoli strikes out way too much...especially for someone who doesn't hit the long ball anymore. This isn't David Ortiz or Miguel Cabrera we're talking about.
With all those strikeouts, he was a few points above his lifetime BA in 2013 and a few below in 2014.
