Verlander...starts off the game razor sharp.. I think I called it last night!

I said a gem!!!!

We call it homerism, he calls it speaking the truth. This could be no farther from it. Doug you make it so easy for people here. With about a 17% success prediction rate, I only hope one is true.

A fucking ring finally.

I agree. Hes quite talented offensively.

His ceiling seems like something between Mickey Tettleton/Gene Tenace, two underrated players. Despite the low averages, they had high OBPs and had plenty of pop. Especially Tenace, he had a career .388 OBP despite only batting .241! He drew a lot of walks and HBPs. Tenace had a career OPS+ of 136, good for 107th all-time. Great hitter, but his career was just too short (played 1555 games, but only 892 as a catcher). Epitome of a Hall of Very Good guy IMO.

Mickey Tettleton was a career .241/.369/.449 (122 OPS+) hitter.

I guess you don't watch the games or read the box scores gandy.. you just let ESPN spoon feed you the highlights..

Verlander was sharp for 5 plus innings. then around 115 pitches. he had trouble. after 122 pitches Ausmus woke up and took him out.

Which is to be expected from a 22-year-old rookie. I think he'll be good, but he isn't going to reach his potential right away. He's going to need some time to develop.

Nope on the ESPN. I only watch the actual events. You spouted off calling it a gem by the fifth inning. You can deflect all you want Dougie. The stupid predictions every other day from you is worse than being spoon fed by ESPN.

Saying Verlander is ALL-STAR at this moment is pure homer and not truth. He belongs on the team no more than Jeter does. Just taking 2 spots from a more worthy player.

Dougie gives no passes. Ausmus has made some mistakes and needs to go. You learn from making them. I will judge Ausmus after next year. Still making same mistakes I say Dougie's comments hold water.

To expect any rookie to be triple crown and gold glove season one is moronic. Him steadily hammering on Avila tells me he does not understand the importance of certain positions inside the game. When to exchange offense for defense or vice versa. Catcher being most noteable of positions. No need to explain it to you Nava...you get it.

As if Posey and Irod's grow on trees.

Twins faced some reality. They saw what happens when you play with HEART against a team without HEART.

I had no idea the central race was so close that the last place Indians are 3.5 out of first

Man the Tigers (excluding their series last weekend with Boston) been stinking up the joint for quite a while now
