1985- they got the ALCS AND a WS ring.

yeah, when the goal is a WS ring and the Tigers are doing the best Buffalo Bills impression, fans get a bit defensive after not getting the goal.

Props on the post. Funny one.

So are saying the 4th trip is this year?

Anynoe know if this kid is on pace for a strikeout record? Whether it be K/per9 or season total.

The Big Unit and Pedro OWN the single season K/9 records. Both were over 13/9 once. (9 out of the top 11) Matt Kilroy struck out 513 batters back in '86......1886. I don't know where Kluber is at, but that record might stand the test of time.

Kluber's K/9 sits at 10.3.

If anyone's gonna threaten the strikeout rate record this year, it might be Strasburg. He currently leads the majors at 11.2. Darvish had a K/9 of 11.9 last year (he sits at 10.8 right now).

You want to see a fan get worked up, go look at CSD needing a whambulance and getting butthurt in the Jeter strike out thread.

Hammer is having a blast with you sunshine!

I owned Hammer pretty hard over in the Jeter strikeout thread, go look for yourself. I poured a gallon size cup of facts down his throat and the thread has been stagnant since. He must be choking. Those Jeter haters are speechless.

3 years...hell the last 3 weeks the Tigers themselves have me worked up.

Cleaves be careful, CSD will add you add to his signature. This tool here struck his nerve on his spankees decline. I feel so honored, although I should pay the rent owed to him for letting me live in his head.

ROFL man you are funny! do you do standup comedy?

Thanks Smitty... you owed me a couple stat findings. (from football but none the less)

Great nick names in 1884 season. Those guys were dealing in 84'.
12 of top 30 season leaders. Hitting either sucked or the umps wanted to drink after the game.

Toad Ramsey must of been lil upset. 499 K's and comes in second. Looked at the season stats for 86'
He had 67 starts and 66 complete games...wow shit has changed.

The top 10 all happened before the existence of the one and only Smit~Tay.

Verlander sucks this season, his ERA is 4

Toronto will r*pe him for 6 ER minimum.

Damn I was close! Verlander final line today: 7 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 4 BB, 4 K

4.19 ERA

Tigers fans must be depressed. :bawling:

Another loss today, that's 5 L's in a row.

3-7 last 10 games.

4-13 last 17 games.

Ouch!

Run differential has gone from an impressive +55 to +5

3 out of the last 5 teams the Tigers have played against have worse records than the Yankees., and Detroit was swept and/or lost the series.

but everyone feels better beating the yankees, especially with a team built to stay out of Jeter's limelight this season.

The talented Finnegan is not universally beloved by scouts. Supporters see a lefty starter who is exceptionally competitive, featuring a low- to mid-90s fastball, mid-80s slider and low-80s change. Detractors see a short, stocky, non-projectable, mid- to back-end starter or one-inning reliever with spotty command, high pitch counts and a maximum effort delivery.

and the Royals 1st pick, again, not suppose to be picked yet...the royals streak of crappy pitchers continues.
