Having a parent that you can't run all over is what straightens you out and toughens you up.

What AP did wasn't a simple spanking -- he drew blood. That is child abuse. And you don't have to hit a child to discipline them. I wasn't hit as a child, but I definitely had punishments if I got out of line and I didn't walk all over my parents.

My dad raised by instilling family values and sacrificing in every sense of the word to make sure we had everything we ever needed. The biggest punishment to me growing up was disappointing my dad. Nothing he could do to would hurt more than knowing I had let him down.

Because of the way my mom and dad raised me -- I will do the same thing with my 16 month old. I honestly don't have any issues with spanking a child with your hand. When you start bringing in different items to use to hit them with -- it isn't a spanking anymore. It also doesn't make you tougher -- it makes you fear the two people in your life who are supposed to everything possible to teach you right from wrong and give you core values to live your life once you are on your own.

If you want to make your child tougher -- Put them in boxing or MMA.

Beating a child with an object till his balls bleed is child abuse. Child abuse is a crime.

And that is what I said many times that spanking is ok. Bronco just has a very disturbing inability to read or more specifically he selectively reads.

I said many times that if what was first reported(use of a switch for simple discipline) was wrong and it was more severe(as we see marks and blood) then I don't agree with what AP did at all. I don't think he is sadistic like Mr. Lions homer(especially considering he cheers for a wife beater) but he deserves to be punished. Miss some games, massive probation/counseling.

I also stated that the use of a switch wasn't bad(depending on the severity). Those things have been used since the beginning of time. Obviously, this was before the whole story was out.

Of course Bronco being a Lions homer or Forrest Gump equivalent( I am going to go with the former) took it as me(yeah just me not the other 40 posters) as being the sick minded homer!!!

this will be his best year. just turn the page on todays game.

I'm willing to owe yesterday's game to the "it's still early" excuse. But face it, the Giants do not have a real NFL-caliber defense, and the Panthers do. And Stafford has been mediocre since 2011. I hope you are right in that 2014 will be his best year.
