Quails? you ascared?

Qualls....4 hits, 3 runs in 2/3 of an inning tonight....he would have fit right in if the Tigers had anything Houston wanted. Guess he will be an Astro.

Tigers actually do have a couple of prospects I like quite a bit and think have a chance to be pretty decent with good development.

Didn't see the game Hughes was bit by the big inning again. Man, he is already worth the investment unlike Nolasco but he would be having a special year if not for the big innings. Just a shame.

At least the Royals gained on the Kitties!!

:(

Was going to ask you if Hendriks looked any different at all. I was kind of confused myself, I just remember him being putrid everywhere he goes at the MLB level and then he goes 7 strong tonight.

Watches some high lights and what not, doesn't look a whole lot different. We are still very apt to having bad games against bad pitchers.

He has some talent but as pointed out, he can do well in AAA but up here he gets hit . I think he throws too soft without great stuff so if he's not pinpoint then it's bad news.

Royals needed that start though. Huge to get 7 great innings in place of Ventura.

From what I've seen, the Twins defense has been killing Hughes.

You would think a team that rolls with a pitch to contact philosophy would have a better defense.

Yeah. The most ironic part about the whole Twins philosophy.

Getting out of Yankee Stadium has helped Hughes out big time though. Last year, he gave up 17 HR in 78.1 IP at YS3. This year, he's only allowed 12 HR in 172.2 IP. Of the 124 homers he's allowed in his career, 71 were at YS3.

Helps he's sporting a ridiculous K/BB ratio.

Our defense is solid in spots. Corner outfield wasn't good with Waldo and hammer but now Schafer is in one spot. You won't find much better up the middle than Escobar and dozier(bad Detroit series for both aside)

As for Hughes, ya his K/BB is nuts. His ground ball rate is also up which is key. Really been the bad inning otherwise he's been insanely good.

As for the twins philosophy.

The ironic part of pitch to contact is we tell our starters it's easier to do it if you throw slower. Which just leads to more meatballs and still bad control(May, liriano)

I agree, a couple, but they aren't going to part with the few they have for a relief pitcher with very few saves, 36 yr old, with a 3.55 era and 1.20 whip. Beyond the top 2 or 3 prospects, it seems Houston didn't want anything else. Guess Qualls didn't really want to go to Detroit anyways, he said he could have signed with them before the season and passed.

Actually was on CBS a lot hated Vice there and never got involved. Trolling othe teams is no fun. KARMA is a bitch.

Newb was reference to here not knowledge. Look Bums I am not going to defend Doug everyday. You have to stop this Royal alliance...making me look bad.

The ban system here is nice. CBS would have been enjoyable with same system. The ALT system here is even better. Vice is running out of IP's to use at his 12 businesses he runs with his 4 degrees.
