Funny thing is most of the yankees injuries has happened to guys who aren't that old. Outside of CC/Tex, the other guys are fairly young.

We just have a poor offense

It's not just the offense. The Yankees' SP outside of Tanaka (who is currently on the DL and faces the possibility of TJ surgery) has been dreadful. McCarthy should be good down the stretch IMO, but that's it. Phelps has been one of their best starters (and he has a 92 ERA+, below average) and he just got shut down for a few weeks.

The starters aren't that bad IMO. Are they great? No but for the most part we are always in games thanks to these below avg starters pitching good enough. Considering all the injuries we had to deal with in our rotation no way should we be right in the middle of the AL playoffs race. BTW 16 straight Yankees games been decided by 2 runs or fewer.

Pineda should be back by next week so that should help.

If tanaka & phelps come back soon our rotation will be good again IMO.
