Well, glad that DD is in charge in Det. He proved for years he couldn't get MLB talent in the off season or trade deadline to help the Tigers win a championship with the best hitter and best pitcher in the league. Now he proved he couldn't get minor league talent at the trade deadline. Got fleesed for Cespedes and Soria for nothing and got a prospect for Price who is a walk machine and went from a prospect 3 seasons ago, to nothing for 3 years, has 1 good season and jumps to 18th. Royals would have gave you John Lamb and some lower prospects for Price if that's all it took.

Tigers can spend on a couple FA's in the offseason but the window is closed. St Louis was smart enough to get rid of Pujols and remained competitive, time for the Tigers to move Miggy. They can't put a better team around him than they have. Miggy is just a seat filler for Det now.

I wonder if doug has a plan on how the Tigers can contend in the AL Central next season? Does doug ever make statements or predictions on the futures of Ausmus and Dombrowski with Detroit? Or is it just ''rah, rah Tigers'' and ''your team sucks'' garbage that he posts?

Tell me doug - how do you see the Tigers rebuilding their starting pitching? Sanchez and Verlander is not much to start with. Maybe Norris? Free agents?

Twins pulled one out of their bottoms yesterday. Luckily, it appears the Mariners are playing for the draft. If Twins can win today, that is 3 of 4 and that would be a start.

Irritated by shitty command? Yeah, probably, but you know that Volquez is the antithesis of a surgeon coming in, also. I would be mad just about every time I am at the plate if that were the case when it comes to certain teams. The Pirates for example have over 50 hit batters, they pitch inside. Everyone knows this. As for Donaldson... why on Earth wouldn't you pitch him inside? Getting his arms extended is suicide. Volquez pitching inside was always a recipe for ugly chin music/HBP's. Madson hitting someone in a 1-1 count seems unlikely.

I do suspect the first HBP from Volquez is intentional. Was talking about pimping everything he (Donaldson) does. That's kind of a stupid reason to hit someone, but at the same time, he wasn't wrong. The others weren't fastballs as I recall. (changeups)

Donaldson had to be restrained on an inside pitch on Russell Martin with Herrera on the mound.
