The sale of David Price warms the hearts of other AL Central teams. Detroit is on the books for five guys with contracts of 15-30 million dollars next year, including: Kinsler, Martinez, Verlander, Cabrera, and I think Sanchez. Detroit traded away its' prospects, pushed for a WS win.... and failed. Came close one year.

The fact that the Tigers held the top spot in the division for a few years helps us grin when Price is traded. No different than you grinned when the Twins lost Santana, Morneau, and Mauer got concussed. Or when Cleveland trades away their best players. Or when guys jump ship from the Royals or Twins for more money. Or when Ozzie Guillen loses it.

We compete with each other. Trading Price is a concession that your time is over.

How predictable DougPlayer would be excited over Verlander throwing one good game against the freaking Rays. 3.5 out doesn't even put you within striking distance of the Wild Card with all the teams in front, and out playing you.

Wish they didn't sell, so I could have seen them fail to win 80 games without getting anything out of it. lol… That team was finished. Management made the right call.

Going to be interesting to see what the Sox do the next 12 hours or so. I'd be shocked if they don't get back to .500 tonight with Sale on the mound vs a shitty Red Sox team. WC2 is in play for them if they keep pulling their head out of their ass.

I like how you bring up his record as if that's reflective of his performance and then you say it would be better if he had a better offense backing him.

A pitcher's record is a worthless stat anyway.

Does doug answer questions? Or does he just ramble on? Will he make a comment about the short term effect on the club due to the loss of Price, Soria, and perhaps others? When I was here before...doug seemed barely educated enough to formulate replies, but he seems to have progressed in that area.
