He may have been the dumpster find of the season, but the last several outings have raised serious question marks.

On Cain's day?

Way to honor your retiring teammate.

:L
We still haven’t paid for him yet. We still owe the Rangers a player. I wonder what the conditions for that compensation are...

Ifthis score stands up, and the Tigers win tonight, the Giants will be back in the drivers seat...

The error was only an extra base, not an out...

And the "double", while well hit, would have been caught by a RF or CF with any speed at all. I love that Pence plays all out all the time and is a great teammate, but he has slowed way down.

I miss the torture of the WS runs. The torture of watching this season has been much worse. The WS torture anticipated pain. This season has been pain from April to September. And how appropriate that we lost Cain's last start by barely scoring any runs, and then giving up the lead late.

An absolute caining in Cain’s final start.

Sad, but appropriate.

Definitely got choked up watching Cain. Really couldn't have drawn up is outing any better. Too bad he got Cained (oddly appropriate though), but in the grand scheme it was a memorable performance. Really friggin bitter sweet.

Cainer, for me, was one of the first players I really latched onto when I started to follow baseball seriously. The first Giants game that I remember going to start to finish (I had been to games before when I was younger, but baseball didn't mean the same to me yet) was a dominant start by Cain against the D-Backs. He did not get Cained luckily. I still remember the agony of watching all those starts where Cain was the tough luck loser, usually against the Padres.

For me, this is kind of a sad end to an era. End of the Cain era, but also the end of my childhood idol era.

Hope all has been well folks. Been awhile. Thought I'd check in to to pay my respects to Matt Cain. Hell of a Giant.

No matter how bad it's gotten, I'll still miss seeing him pitch.

Good to see you around and well Filo!

The previous owner of the site was a fucking nozzle. He had so much hate in him (not only the Giants, but the Giants were high on the list) and he couldn’t separate his hatred from being a professional.

Then one of the other boards went Disney so we had a huge influx of new posters, and they were kinda dickheads as well. Hammer hated them, but still directed them to troll-bomb our board. That pretty much was the last straw for a few of our guys (GP and FILO, mainly). I don’t remember if that was before or after I got booted from the admin board.

I remember that day. I didn't see the lead up, came in basically after everything calmed down, but legitimately thought that was the end of this board.
