I'd lean slightly Ajayi

But like Howard tonight
My only hesitation with howard is he is sharing carries with cohen more and more. its becoming a platoon.

last week howard had 63% of the RB snaps

week before, 68%

they love cohen

Yeah, Cohen is good, but its such a run heavy offense, there is enough to go around there, and Howard will see everything near the goal line

4 days left in the season and only 3 things currently up for grabs

1. AL East between Red Sox/Yankees
2. Best record in AL between Indians/Astros
3. 2nd NL Wild Card between Rockies/Brewers/Cardinals

Every other playoff spot/seeding is set.

3 times in the previous 8 seasons we have had divisions won by 15 games or more.

There could be 3 this year alone: AL Central, AL West, NL East

Porcello now with a 6.07 ERA in his last 8 starts at home. 2.72 ERA in his last 7 starts on the road.

Far reaching hypothetical

Sox lead the Yankees by one game on Sunday

Do you start Sale?

Do you save Sale for a possible one gamer for the AL East?

Do you save Sale for a possible one game WC play in?

Watcha do

I throw Sale on Sunday and if we can't win a game at home with our ace on the mound, in a must-win game, we're fucked either way. We win the game, we just throw Sale in Game 2 on Friday instead of Game 1.

We lose the game, with Sale on the mound, we throw Porcello (yuck) at Yankee Stadium on Monday. Assuming of course the Yankees win on Sunday. Then when/if we lose that game, we throw E-Rod in the Wild Card game against Minnesota.

Last night could end up being a huge win for the Sox..........Cant imagine youd want to enter this final series thinking even a split could result in a one game playoff for the East

That's why these next 3 days are so important. We win 1 of them, the Yankees have to go 3-0 in order to force the division to come down to the final day.

Only chance we have, is Sale is rested and on for Game 1. Only chance of that happening is if he doesn't have to go on Sunday.

The one thing the Red Sox HAD in August that I could point to was, they were going to go into the playoffs with the best starter. Now, that's not the case. Kluber, Severino, and Keuchel are all pitching better than Sale right now. So only chance is they get hot, which of course is possible, but I don't feel great about it.

dirt, youre eye-talian...

interesting...

Legend has it that in the 1920s three mobsters ran afoul of Al Capone's gang. As street justice would have it, they came across a man with a baseball bat, and they paid for their indiscretions with their lives. The man wielding the bat allegedly was Tony Accardo, aka "Joe Batters."

Accardo, who rose to become boss of the Chicago mafia in the 1940s and '50s, is Joey Bosa's great-grandfather on his mom's side.

Yup. This weekend is just about taking care of business, then hopefully being able to rest to get healthy, and I'd love to see Bogaerts and Pedroia get hot. Because if Betts is healthy, he's been one of the best guys in the league with RISP. And Hanley has shown that he can get hot if he feels like trying.

Mentioned earlier I wouldn't be shocked if Houston won the series, but the Yanks don't take care of business

Asking to win out is a huge task
