Posey sits. Blanco in the leadoff spot. Belt batting cleanup. Craw still playing.

I like that Posey is resting. I hope he gets one more off game in this series.

I guess they are trying to get Blanco more comfortable with the leadoff spot. No matter what we think, he is the guy.

I suspect Belt in the cleanup is more so he gets more ABs than anything else. He needs to play every game of this series, although he has looked good since coming back.

I know Craw is hot, but he plays SOOOO much better when he is rested. I would hate to have him tired for the games that count.

4-2 good guys.

I read his regular season is done and if healthy could be a PH in the wild card game.

Thanks...I'm just not feeling it without Pagan and Morse (PH duty isn't enough). Rooting for the crazy miracle.

Yep, we'll need to get more QSs than have been happening lately, 'cause the hitting is looking suspect.

Giants always love to bring back their players. Tonight, they are bringing back many of the former Willie Mac winners.

Giants have 5 different Willie Mac recipients now on the team. Pretty cool, shows the continuity and characters we have in the clubhouse. It's not the same guy winning it every year, even though everyone is still around. MadBum in particular shows the growth, even he's still only 25, he's now become a leader of this team.

And Snow, Dunston, Krukow, Kent and Gardner are all still with the team in non-player roles (broadcaster, 2 coaches and 2 special assistants). That means half of the recipients are still with the team.

I know his numbers are an OK middle of the order guy, but I am not sure I will miss Panda all that terribly.

Reputedly, and by observation, Panda is a really good "bad ball" hitter. No questions. Three bounce pitch? He can hit it off the wall for a double.

This season, the question has become, for me, whether he can be a "good ball" hitter. Since he is so aggressive going out of the strike zone, does that inhibit his ability to hit good pitches IN the strike zone? This season, it just seems time and time again, he gets good pitches to hit, and either takes them, or misses them. And yet he continually is chasing, and often hitting, pitches out of the zone.

I like the "stirrup" look, but Pence is really pushing it, for my tastes.

I will take his look over the guys who have the the back of the cuff under their shoe, though.

Ishi making a serious bid to not only make the playoff roster, but be a starter as well.

He's had a good showing in left as well. He hasn't had to do anything great out there but he does look like he can handle it.
