Nice! Its a big deal that the Giants are able to expand the division lead by even 1 game with the Dodgers taking on the D-Backs while we played in Colorado. The Rockies are close to .500, the D-Backs are 100 game losers.

And the Rox have only been swept at home twice all season.

Both against the Giants.

I can’t stop thinking how frustrated the doggie fans and players are getting right now.

The dogs are the 3rd hottest team in all of baseball right now, and are LOSING ground in the race.

and are looking at the prospect of facing the hottest team in a 1-game, loser go home game in a week and a half.

And how hot the Cardinals are right now makes it even more imperative for the Giants to keep the division lead.

All true. OTOH, if we eliminate them in the AZ series, or even Fri night, they get to reset their rotation for Scherzer to face Waino.

The greatest takeaway from this series is that Gas seems to have rediscovered his split.

Now, if the Captain is ok, we should be in real good shape heading into the final reg season homestead.

for AZ:

Tue: Webb v. Weaver (I will be there, so I take all blame in advance)
Wed: Cueto v. Kelly
Thu: Wood v. Bum

It'd be nice to get six out of Webb, four out of JC, and five out of Wood. And to enter Fri night with a magic number of 1.

Meanwhile in LA

Beuhler v. TBD (my guess is Knehr)
Scherzer v. Darvish
Kershaw v. Laurer

can't expect much help from the Fraudres, but you never know.

On radio they say hairline fracture so maybe not too bad but who knows. For sure I would think he's out the next few games
I'm pretty sure he's done for the year.

Silver lining: might lower his cost as a FA

Baggs said out regular season but not necessarily playoffs yet.

Seriously, though. This is like Bum getting hit by line drive in his hand in the last game of spring training.
