Best QB-UK
Worst QB- WLK
Best RB/FB- Gold
Worst RB/FB- Nos
Best WR/TE- Jeffro
Worst WR/TE- WLK
Best OL- WLK
Worst OL- Pack 500
Best DL- Pack 500
Worst DL- Stoke/DJ
Best LB- Ritz
Worst LB- Stoke/DJ
Best DB- Nos
Worst DB- WLK

I feel like Im #6 at DB with Ritz #7 and WLK #8. Louis Wright, Nolan Cromwell and Cliff Harris are all on the all decade team. While I dont have a HOF DB I feel like I have good DBs who arent HOF caliber.
Our rankings must have been damn close! I rated your RB/FB 3rd best and I rated WLK's DB as 7th best. So not far from your rankings at all!

Marino > Elway and it's not close, it's like comparing Joe Montana to Christian Ponder! :heh:

If I had to say someone in today's NFL was Dan Marino I would have to say it's Tony Romo. I'm a Romo fan and not a hater. My brother is a diehard Cowboys fan and I'm always defending Romo when people say he sucks. Even Troy Aikman said Romo is a better QB than he ever was. I would say Romo is the best QB in the NFL who hasn't won a SB yet. Luck would be #2 on my list.

Just catching up, will set my rankings but first... Walter Payton and Tom Rathman are the best backfield here... If you don't have that in your rankings you're being a homer... Walter Payton is the best running back all time and Rathman is the best FB in the this draft... It's not a debate...

I have Barry > Payton but it's close and I have Harris > Rathman. Rathman is the best non HOF FB in this draft though.

Barry better than Walter... At jukes yes, that's about it... Rathman lead blocking for Payton unreal... Harris has 12,000 yards, he's a HB...

Payton > Sanders... Sanders wasn't a good blocker, Walter was, Barry wasn't good receiving out of the backfield, Walter was, Walter was NEVER taken out in goal line or short yardage situations Barry was. Walter played with much inferior teammates on offense. Walter had the best stiff arm of all time! Barry often times hurt his team by turning 2nd and 7 into 3rd and 12 because he tried to turn every play into a home run... It's not close IMO...

Harris wasn't a blocking FB, Rathman was. I am giving extra points to teams that didn't just try to put two rushers together...

Agreed, Barry had many games where he had 10 carries for 10 yards then busted a 50 yard gain to make his numbers look good. One other thing Walter NEVER quit on his teammates, his coaches, his city or his fans! We can't say the same for Barry can we?

Just remember, John L. Williams did lead block.... Also, I added him for his receiving, not his rushing :)

not sure if this is true or not, but i have always had a problem with the way football statistics have been shown...
for RBs, i would like to know the percent of carries were ran for positive yards, and percent of carries ran for over 10 yards... Also, % of carries for first downs/TDs

add those 3 stats to yards after contact, and yards per carry and you can get a much better read on how good a RB was...

I don't like having these conversations because it makes it seem like I don't think Sanders was great, he obviously was one of the best backs of all time and his ability to make defenders look silly is something the league may never see again it's just comparing him to Walter is insane IMO...
