I think everyone on the hoop knows I love Walter...

1) I was referring to my other rb's I listed
2) I was shocked you passed on payton with your first pick.

He was ahead of his time. If Jim Brown or Bo Jackson were born in 1992, and had grown up in the age of sport specific workouts, creatine, whey protein and HGH, they'd have weighed 250-260 and still ran 4.2's. Your argument would go like this, Michael Jordan was overrated because the athletes now are more athletic than they were when he played....of course this is absurd, but our dads and grandpa's would argue the same about Dr J and Elgin Baylor and Wilt

Most players had to go back to a 9 - 5 job when the season ended. Most players had lives away from football. Most players from the 50's & 60's would be in the canadian league or not playing at all if they could somehow be transported to todays game. Jim Brown being one of the few that would have still been great in today's game. I don't think he'd weigh 250 he was 6'2 and weighed 230 thats big by todays standards. If he did get up to 250 - 260 he'd be a linebacker not a RB. Point is he would still be real good but he'd be trying to run through and past much better players if he was playing in todays league.

EDIT... Honestly I don't even know if we disagree, I wouldn't argue someone is better than Jordan because basketball isn't football where players sizes have changed so much over the years. Bottom line is Brown would still be a good player in todays game but not anywhere close to what he was.

ANOTHER EDIT... Obviously if players from the 50's & 60's played today they would have way more things available to them but thats not the point.

I dont believe RB is as important as other positions in these drafts.

I dont know the right answer. I do know this, I was a good athlete, my uncle, who is 65 was a great athlete. In my mid 30's I got to where I could bench 400 natural. My uncle said they didn't bench much in his day, maybe 250. That said, I was never as strong as him. His forearms(and my Dad's), were as big as my biceps. They said it's because everything back then was manual labor. I respect his opinion(knows his sports, triple A guy), and he told me while the guys in his Dads time were generally smaller, they were all freaky strong. I think when you look at the length of Homeruns by guys like Mantle, Gehrig and Ruth vs guys today(post steroid era) backs that up

Not really anything to say other than you listed 3 of the greatest players to ever play the game. Of course there are some freaks of nature but they are the exception not the rule. In the NFL in the 50's and 60's there were some tough guys playing but those guys were the exception. In todays NFL they are the rule. We both know comparing eras doesn't work but there were a handful of exceptions in the 50's and they were playing against Bob the guy who fixed your dads lawn mower in July, alot of people trying to tackle Jim Brown were that guy, in today's NFL there are no Bob the lawn mower guys, so sure Brown would be good but now so is everyone else.

You said you're corners had more INT's than mine, Paul Krause has more than anyone does that make him the best there ever was?
I said my entire secondary had more INT's than yours.

Yeah, but now I'm 46 and broke down lol. I did martial arts and mma and power lifted, now I've got arthritis like a 70 year old and have to warm up just to jog. My oldest son is an mma fighter, probably couldn't bench 250(I've monitored how he lifts), but he can sit on his rear with his legs straight out and climb a 20' rope just arms. At my best, I might have gotten 5' lol. The kids today are so strong and athletic, it's just absurd
