I will tell you that picking bums was tough for me since I did not like how he was trying to be cute with all these old time players who had NO Longevity... trying to claim they are better than anyone else...

just liked his lineup and bullpen more than yours, even with your better rotation...

I was actually agreeing with you. I voted for you, though it was a tough contest that I could see both sides on. That reasoning would figure to work both ways though on the matchups

I think Wills was my only weakness in the lineup and he it 9th batting .281 (2134 hits), with 586 steals (6x leader), 2 GG and an MVP... I feel very good about having him both offensively and defensively... Only a HOF pick would have replaced him for me...

As I said, a righty hitter would want to see a righty pitcher I get that, but why would him having 3 lefty pitchers hurt me for having basically half my lineup bat left (especially when most are my best hitters) but he'd be fine with all righty hitting... I even called out pack 500 on that logic... but he came back saying lefties are harder to overcome... didn't want to argue more about that...

Then you must be talking about Hack at leadoff and I'm going off what I read which stated he batted leadoff most of his career and lead the league in steals twice... And though I know they were low totals, if we're not going to give credit for people dominating their era then we shouldn't be able to pick those guys...

I can give you my bench, I thought it was a solid strategy at the time but feel I could have done better... The theory was 1 offensive catcher since I needed a catcher even though I had Pudge, then a speedster for pinch running, 1 heavy hitter which were all but gone so I settled on Cey with his 315 since you wouldn't give me Howard, and 2 guys who were money pinch hitters from either side of the plate... Staub and Mota were said to be the best PH from all I could find... Almost wen Tommy Davis but read Mota was slightly better because of his batting technique... My thinking was the lineup was pretty damn good and defensively I wouldn't want anybody else out there so I just needed situational hitting or a speedster...

Oh well I think this was by far my best team for baseball... It's pretty disappointing especially while drafting I'd read the guys Bums was picking and looked them up and thought no way he could win... I'm asking for full credit for Hack so I give his guys full credit but we're talking Noodles over Palmer... That's crazy to me...

That was my biggest regret... It's why I tried not to drop Harrah, but then I'd have to drop Cey... Just should've left Staub out, and Manny for that matter... Hell I typed Herb Washington before I deleted and took Leflore...

live and learn... there were many things I regretted doing or not doing this draft too... But you are certainly getting better at the baseball drafts, as admitted by you that this is your weakest... small tweaks here and there and you will be doing much better...

Clayton Kershaw and 3 cy youngs is already one of the greatest pitchers of all time, even if he gets hit by a bus tomorrow, longevity doesn't change that and a couple of playoff losses won't change that.

There are pitchers today who gained longevity because of Tommy John, there were pitchers before who were great but short careers.

There are players today with longevity because they can afford to just play baseball as well as peds. Because guys had full time jobs and played baseball as a hobby and still able to hit above .300 is even more remarkable than a guy who lives baseball year round.

Maybe the hardest thing to do is hit a baseball but comparing players 100 years apart might be close.

Wlk has a great team, but like I said, I would love to simulate games to see results.

Being a guy who grew up playing stratomatic, I would even love the chance at similulating the teams with it.
