No players to root for...

No good baseball to get excited about...

Possibility it all gets called off in a day anyway...

I am just having a HARD time getting into this season.

Don't know how much of it is due to Kapler's use of him, but I am not impressed with Rogers this year. He earned a chance to make the big leagues 3 years ago and looked good when he finally got his chance last year but this season is earning a quick end to his big league career.

He is not the high leverage choice right now. But then, who is? This bullpen sucks. Right now Gott and Watson have been the only reliable ones. Shawn Anderson started the season throwing great, but he has seriously regressed. And Kapler's management of the bullpen, such as it is, leaves a lot to be desired. Hate being up on the Dogs 2-0 and then losing the game.

Yastrzemski? Is it too early to talk MVP possibilities for him?

I will grant you Yaz, and add in Solano. We are more than 1/4 through the season, so I guess we can talk awards, but at the same time, it is only 17 games. One slump for either player and we will all be calling for them to DFA’d yesterday.

Solano's OPS is almost identical to Yaz's but Yaz has the "counting" stats going for him so far (although Solano's batting average would be shiny enough to some voters).
And yes, 17 games into a season is a very small sample size for a normal season but I think the "way too early" talk of MVPs happens around the quarter mark. Its at least nice to think that, as some point in the season, a Giant was considered a possible contender for a prestigious award.

Kapler isn't wowing me ...
