Giants win 3-0 on 3 Crawford solo shots. There is a bit of drama in the 9th inning, however, as Rico "My name is not Jarlin, coach" Garcia loads the bases with 1 out. Kapler comes in to pull him for the Garcia he meant to insert originally in the 9th but makes a mistake and accidentally puts Pence in left field instead. Pence, though, makes a clever move to pretend he loses the ball hit to him by the next batter, only to catch it and double off the runner on 3rd, ending the game in a play that takes the pressure off of both him and Kapler.

Gausman is bringing the heat today. Consistently around 97, up to 99 more than once. Lots of swings and misses.

When he's on, he's definitely fun to watch.

Meanwhile, Bum is getting absolutely torched in Arizona so far. Gave up 4 homers in two innings today, has a 9.35 ERA on the season.

I turned 31 on that day in 2008. Weird it was that long before it happened again (the speed of the K pitch, not me turning 31 again. That won't happen for another 7 years).

Guasman up to 23 K's and 2 BB's this year, in 18 2/3 innings. Hits have been an issue, particularly against lefties, but not today.

Gausman still cruising. I'll be curious if he comes back out for the 7th.

This will be the ultimate test of philosophies. He's about to turnover the lineup for the 3rd time, so if the Giants stick to their philosophy he's probably out of the game. That being said, he's only at 73 pitches and has hardly had to break a sweat.

If the Giants add a couple more runs here, we could see him go back out there, but I feel like he may be done if they don't.

Appreciate all those guys for what they've done, but I can't wait until we can move on. If we can deal with Bochy and Bum leaving at the same time, won't be hard to get over them.

Rogers seems like an odd choice to bring in here, after pitching 2 innings just last night.

Don't know how much of it is due to Kapler's use of him, but I am not impressed with Rogers this year. He earned a chance to make the big leagues 3 years ago and looked good when he finally got his chance last year but this season is earning a quick end to his big league career.
