The pitching was great, of course, but the lack of situational hitting again cost them the game.
sure, but most of that was Roarke pitching really, really well. And a phenomenal catch in CF

When the team is hitting like a 6 year old t-ball team for a month straight, I REFUSE to tip the cap to the other guy. That is just an excuse at this point. They have not earned the right to acknowledge a job well done by the opponent.sure, but most of that was Roarke pitching really, really well. And a phenomenal catch in CF

Maybe.See it how you will. Roarke was dealing.
Maybe.
Maybe not.
This team is in such a funk, how could we know? The evidence points the Giants hitters doing AT LEAST half the work for him.
My eyeball tells me the Giants have sucked for the better part of a month. The eyeball test?
sure, but what do your eyes tell you about how Roarke pitched, or didn't you watch? My eyeball tells me the Giants have sucked for the better part of a month.
Again, I can look great if I am facing a team that can't get out of their own way.sure, but what do your eyes tell you about how Roarke pitched, or didn't you watch?
Bad Timmeh threw two no-nos against the Padres. One of the toughest things to figure in baseball...when a shutout happens, how much is the pitcher crushing it and how much is the other team sucking it?
Nope.@tzill & @calsnowskier - is this really something worth arguing over?
Bad Timmeh threw two no-nos against the Padres.
It was a perfect example of what we are talking about. Timmeh looked good in the second one, but the first one he was all over the place. Heston's is in the same boat. He was effectively wild, but the Mets certainly helped him out.LOL but not sure how this applies....those are good examples of not being sure which is which.
I guess if you throw a perfecto it's almost all the pitcher, that's just a day no one was gonna hit him.
I dunno...I've watched baseball for decades, and I'd like to think I can tell when a pitcher is dealing. His location was almost perfect and he changed speeds masterfully. We can see it differently.Again, I can look great if I am facing a team that can't get out of their own way.
Roarke may have caused it. But the Giants don't deserve that benefit of the doubt. Not when they have looked like that against everyone for 4 weeks now.
Great example. Hesto wasn't dealing that day like Roarke was Sunday. It was a perfect example of what we are talking about. Timmeh looked good in the second one, but the first one he was all over the place. Heston's is in the same boat. He was effectively wild, but the Mets certainly helped him out.
