From Baggs

One night after scoring 11 runs in a win over the A’s, the Giants could do little against Banda (1-1), making just his second major league start. The 23-year-old right-hander allowed three hits — none of which got out of the infield — and struck out seven in six innings. The Giants’ lone run scored when Brandon Crawford walked with the bases loaded in the fourth.

Every Giant pitcher wears #55 for him. :tsk:

Bum has pitched well, but why with a RISP and an open base would you pitch to Goldschmidt?!?

Also, our offense is, well, offensive, in the worst sense of the word.

I mean he is one of the best hitters in baseball.

His career line versus the Giants though is well below his career total line:

.277/.391/.478 as opposed to .302/.404/.534, and that's with his .536/.559/1.357 line vs number 55.

Really hope Belt is okay, looked bad. He's had concussion issues in the past too.
Given his history with concussions and how long he has taken in the past to recover from this, I would not be shocked if we don't see him again this season.

And he needs just 1 HR to break his personal record, and 2 fir 20. Tough break.

Interesting. Still, why even risk pitching to him with a RISP? With two outs?

No matter what the stats, it still feels like Goldy kills us whenever he has the chance.

Do you remember when AZ walked Bonds with the bases loaded in the 9th inning and AZ was ahead by two runs at the time? They gave up the one run rather than risk Bonds driving in more than one run. I had never seen that before, or since.

Yeah not disputing Bum's pitch selection there, but there was only 1 out and JD Martinez on deck. In the 4th, not that mad about it.
