So with half the season left and your team in the thick of the division race you would be a seller based on a 24 game stretch?

He can't really say it any clearer.

Dude's just different.

Yes. So obtuse.

We're almost talking different languages here. I think I'll withdraw, saying only that we have very different ideas of fandom. I suspect you'll be a bit upset if the Giants make the playoffs, or god forbid win the division. How could logic fail you so!

We are talking different languages. You're into "busting balls," and I'm into "discussing the points presented." When your agenda doesn't work out the way you want, you resort to name calling and obfuscation.

Different languages indeed.

You are incredibly late to the party. If you're really interested, go back and read the threads.

Impossible in fact. Goes against logic.

But I guess "sarcasm" is the sine qua non of "real fandom."

Gotcha.

Yeah, there was NO LOGICAL reason to be sellers on a team that played a historically bad month, because teams that do that often...oops, sometimes...oops, once in a while...oops, oh, yeah: NEVER make the playoffs.

No logic in that at ALL. Just bad fandom. I shoulda stuck to "breaking balls" which is what all REAL fans do.

I have and I'd like to go with a more recent post rather then bring up something from days ago only to be told to get up to date.

Baseball is a 162 game season. You're gonna have winning streaks and you're gonna have losing streaks. You hope your division rivals have more of the losing ones and you more of the winning ones. So when this team goes into a funk in June I don't get all bent and say the team fold and look forward to next year. That's what we have the Cubs for.

Damn, and I was SO hoping you'd ask me.

Or, a monster truck rally.

I don't do monster truck shows so you don't have to worry about that.

3rd .771 OPs
6th 86 XBH

What a friggin' turn around.

Indeed. Hitting is contagious. Now that we have plugged the holes, opposing teams can't pitch around guys anymore.

So you're a "big picture guy." Ok, fair enough. I the 100+ year history of baseball, how many teams have gone 6-18 and gone on to the playoffs?

That's the big picture I looked at.

Precisely. I only wish the pitching was contagious too, for Tim's sake. Maybe, somehow, he can regain the mojo that he had earlier in the year when he was 3.0.

How many teams have gone 30-11 and missed the playoffs?

I'm sure those teams that did not make the playoffs had more then one 6-18 stretch. When I looked at this team after their stretch they were still in the thick and had no reason to jump ship. About the best I can put it right now is I'm a glass half full guy while you're a half empty guy.

You've done zero research, but you're "sure."

Ok, we're done.

I don't know. But when the Giants won their 30th game this year, they had already lost 18 games. So, I'm not sure what your point is?

Was he talking 30-11 to start the season or a 41 game stretch?

During April/May/June, the Giants had a 30-11 stretch. Just countering your 6-18 stretch.
