What the fuck was that???
Was Specs out of position? That was just ugly.

Yep, ya gotta love the HELMET SPIKE. And the crowd's roar is spine tingling.
We knew that three weeks ago.Damn. Still time left, but it's running out. It's looking like the Giants are going to need some help.....
Agree to a certain extent. 3 weeks ago, it felt like the Giants had more control of their destiny than they do now. We all knew August was going to be ridiculously hard.....I just feel we're in a much tighter predicament than before. We knew that three weeks ago.
But we are only 3 out and are playing .500 ball in the month-from-hell. Remember, out September is the antithesis of this August. All coasting teams who are more worried about October tee-times than playing baseball.
Not the worst position to be in.
filo, I'm having a hard time understanding your point. How would the playoffs have a bad long term effect on our arms? Are you talking about them being worn out from extended use?Posted this on another board, but I truly think this (apologize in advance ).....
I'm kind of stuck in a vicious dichotomy.....I want the Giants to re-sign Leake, and I feel the best way to do that is to make the playoffs this year. That said, the long term effects of making the playoffs this season (with no guarantee of a championship) might have bad long term effects on our important arms (Bum, Heston and Cain).
just thinking out loud here.
He gave that a ride, even though it was a horrible pitch to swing at.
By some's logic, that makes Posey a worthless hitter.
I think that game was more disappointing than a blow out. We had a chance there. With that said, if we come out of Saint Louis with one win, I will be happy.

Understood. I'm not too concerned about Cain considering he hasn't pitched much in the past two years. Of course, that may still be too much for his arm. Heston is about 30 innings from what he threw last year. I know that he was shut down about 2/3rds into the season so he may hit fatigue at the worst point. Bumgarner would be the biggest concern, considering how many innings he threw last year.Yes sir. Bum has had a lot of mileage on his arm recently, Heston long term could use an offseason of rest and Cain is our expensive rebound necessity. I think all 3 could use an extended rest.
Or maybe I'm just trying to make reasons for the glass to be half full either way you look at it.m
I think my expectations are low after the 4 game series in Chicago. The Cardinals have a better pitching staff. I'd much rather win a series too. Guess I'm being too negative about their chances.Losing series don't make me "happy," but to each his own.
On the road against a stud team...I think that game was more disappointing than a blow out. We had a chance there. With that said, if we come out of Saint Louis with one win, I will be happy.
