It's about a 3 hour drive for me to Hubbard Texas, think sometime this summer I might drive up there to see his grave site.

I really am still a little surprised at how underrated Speaker is, thankfully due to our group think I think he gets more love here but...
HAS to be one of the most underrated players ever. I honestly never even heard of him before I started doing these and that's unacceptable

A stat not many know about Speaker, most outfield assists of all time and by a pretty good margin.

It's a different game today but that's still a pretty damn impressive stat especially when considering how amazing he was with the bat.

In all sports IMO!

Wouldn't say that at all.... he is under-rated to us because he is not an ALL TIME(top 10 offensive players) great and he played his whole career before 1930...

Really i wouldn't call him under-rated at all...

Fair enough who are your top 5 pre 30 hitters?

before i answer that i would need to know draft rules here... is 1899 when a player has to start his career by or does he just need to have played...

Then top 5 players who never played a game after 1930

1. Ty cobb
2. Honus Wagner
3. Nap Lajoie
4. Dan Brouthers
the 5th would be Tris speaker IMO...

But if i moved it up another 10 years

rogers Hornsby
and babe ruth

he just gets more respect in our mocks because of being a center fielder....

If anything i think Nap Lajoie Is the most under-rated baseball player in history... and especially our mocks...

To be fair Cobb does qualify for right field but yes the advanced stats aren't as kind to him defensively. He is second in assists though lol

I don't agree and that's cool but i'm curious why Nap and Brouthers in front of Speaker?
