Man not a single starting pitcher has done shit this year. On paper we had a decent team at the start of the year. Then every starter sucked or got hurt, most of the pen sucked or got hurt (Smith), and most of the lineup sucked or got hurt.

Just a perfect storm of suck. Figure it out for next year.

And even then I'm not that impressed. Sure run support and all, but he's not anywhere near a #1 or even a #2.

Posey still has no RBI's in July.

:L

He'll probably have 5 in the All Star game, when they don't count. I guess they really don't count anymore on the Giants. Stokesy, 2017 is over.

I do like this Hwang kid though. Not sure what that means for Arroyo.

I like Panik more than Arroyo but you might be right
I am not saying I don't like Panik. It is just that 2B is a place of depth in this org, and Panik can (should) get a kings ransom in return.

Wouldn't Arroyo get something too?

Maybe. But not as much as Panik. Especially right now. Arroyo is out and does not have a good MLB resume.

Prospect 4 prospect trades are few and far between in baseball.

Look at Yelich or Osuna as an example. Do you think the Marlins would listen to a package centered around Arroyo? If so, what other pieces would need to be included?

How about a package centered around Panik? I am not certain other pieces would even be needed to make that happen.

(Not saying this even makes sense. I don't think the fish need a 2B.)

You are probably right, just different from our usual MO, trading away mainstays from the championship teams is different for us, but this year shows it's probably time to be different.

Why do the Giants ever go with a 3-man booth? They have Lopez and Affeldt this year. Use then as permanent filler.

Or Johnson. Although, I wasn't totally impressed. He knew his stuff, he just didn't communicate well, IMHO.

No rush, either way. Panik or Arroyo (or Moore or Bum, or whomever) could be traded in the off-season. During the deadline, the focus should be on Span, Nunez, Cueto and Hundley. But if someone is willing to pay deadline prices for one of the core players, they should certainly listen.
