Agreed. The Spanks are a good team, and the Giants need to play cleaner to even have a chance at a win. Should have offered Judge anything he wanted to get him here. Water under the bridge.
Yankees are pretty clearly the best team in baseball, Phillies close

And sometimes they turn good pitches into mistakes

Good hitting is a thing
Not disagreeing, but I am saying the efforts of Hicks, Webb, and Walker were much more dispositive.

Webb got umpjacked with Judge forcing a 3-2 count Not saying the pitchers did great but as usual your biases cloud your ability to understand that it’s not always about the pitching.

I'll chime in on this and actually back tzill a bit. Isn't there a saying that good pitching trumps good hitting? And the talk amongst some on this board is that this team is built around pitching (ala the 2010s dynasty)? And that, in the playoffs, a team with good pitching is more dangerous than a good hitting team? My point is, if we expect this team to get to the playoffs and do well in the playoffs, our best starters need to perform well against good hitting teams like the Yankees. Expecting mediocre outcomes from the top of the rotation isn't a good sign for postseason aspirations.

Not always, but usually.

Agreed, I think this is an example of your biases not always but usually clouding your judgement
