Very happy for Bumgarner I think he has earned it. Posey gets a reserve spot which is fine, Scutaro I guess as a 37-year-old and this being his first time

The team hasn't played sharp consistently all year but there plenty of makeup opportunity in a long baseball season

If Bumgarner keeps things going today he would have an ERA below 3 with over 100 K's. He has had some issues with run support and think he deserves the final spot and he got it.

I've been preoccupied with life and stuff to compare numbers of other NL pitchers but I see your point. He's been the only example of dominant pitching we've seen from the giants staff this year.

There have been some strong pitchers this year. If Scutaro is 31 or 32 I don't think he makes the All-Star Game
