Is it wrong to just want to lose 2-1 and get on the plane, to avoid a possible 12 inning bullpen burning getaway game before the Dodgers series?

Hamels at 110 pitches, but still hitting 94mph to Panda here. 95mph to Morse.

Uh-oh. Papelbon in for the 9th. There's no way we can beat him.

Wouldn't he have scored on the single, or can one not assume that?

They never assume the runners advance more than the number of bases credited to the hitter.

Giants are 42-11 when scoring 1st (.792)

Giants are 15-34 when not scoring 1st (.306)

Score early, score often!

Hamels was going to be tough to beat, and he was. Still, ten days ago, I would gladly have taken a 4-3 road trip. A 5-2 road trip is excellent. A 6-1 trip would have been stellar.

Now to go back to the House of Horrors that has been ATT Park. We gotta get our mojo back in our home yard. And beat LA!

It was going to happen sometime. Better sooner rather than later. Maybe we can use him as trade bait.

I'm expecting Brandon Hicks, Pt 2. Without the glove.

I would rather wait on Uggla, but if EA is DL'd, than It has to be either him or Noonan, and Noonan has done NOTHING this year to warrant another cuppo.

The prob with Uggla (roster-wise) is that he would require a DFA or a 60. I suppose Pagan is a 60-candidate, but I know they are averse to putting guys on the 60. That leaves DFA, and I would assume the candidates would be...

Noonan (doubtful)
Cordier (doubtful - they seem to LOVE him)
De Paula (I keep forgetting he is even on the 40)

So I would put the possibilities at either 60-day'ing Pagan or DFA'ing (D'ingFA??) De Paula.

Yup. Noonan has a .584 OPS in a hitter's league. And he's had multiple chances to prove himself. It wouldn't upset me to see him DFA'd. If that means making a commitment to Uggla for the rest of the season, so be it. The choices aren't great, but they aren't game-changing either, as it were.

Giants lose 2-1 in Phiily

Hudson pitched a good game going 6 innings giving up 8 H and had 6 SO.

Philly won it on Byrd and Utley singles to score one run each.

Hamels went 8 IP giving up only 1 ER and had 10 SO. He got the win.

Giants won the series which was real good and now head home to face the Dodgers Friday.

BEAT L.A. !

Note...Happy Birthday to Barry Bonds.

Sabes said Pagan could be back next road trip. And the Adrianza is heading to the DL.

He's on KNBR now. More info to come.
