Bases full for Arias. This should be good.

Not.

Why is he still on this team?

Kuip: actually, Arias is gonna hit with the bases loaded.
Kruk: wow! That is a huge break for the Giants!
Me: NO IT'S NOT!! It's friggin' Arias!

LOL

Who would have thought that loss from 4 years ago would be so memorable. I know EXACTLY where I was when I was watching that game (at the hotel bar in Dallas on a biz trip), and the main thing I remember about it was that it was the same day that Oswald played in the OF for the Astros.

It really DID feel like a crushing loss at the time, but the team showed great character and went on from there.

The memorable thing on the board was the pompous announcement, with utmost certainty, that the game spelled disaster for the rest of the season. As if, why even bother playing any more games?

HWSNBN took a load of flak for that comment, but never seemed get why.

The rook getting it done.

I was pretty down on EA at the beginning of the season, but he shows some promise now and again.

In my mind he should get every start in place of Arias. Arias shouldn't start at all even to give someone a rest.

On this we agree. Arias is having a terrible season at the plate. He will not get much better, EA has room to grow, and needs PA's to do it.

We may have a glut of middle infielders here pretty soon.

Do you think EA, or Panik could play 3rd? Panda needs a rest once in a while, and Arias is our only 3B backup, I think.

Well, we knew Morse's D would cost us....a leadoff double in a game we can't score runs...

Doubtful. Arias still needs to be the guy to let Panda rest, I meant Arias shouldn't start at SS or 2B.

Hoping Huddy can keep it to 1 run (or zero, obviously)

I saw Duvall play 3rd a few times in Spring Training this year. He made a couple of really nice plays, and has a strong arm. Not sure on a day to day basis, but he can play the position. I like his approach as a hitter, too. And he has some power.
