This is how baseball breaks your heart. You win 3 in a row, look good doing it, and you think 'ok these guys are pretty good, they can go on a run and compete'. But they aren't, it's just baseball and in a long season even mediocre teams will look sharp for a few games here and there.

Still, winning is better than losing. And don't give me that draft pick shit this isn't the NBA, draft order is close to meaningless most years.
I do like winning but I think you underestimate draft pick order. Look at the Giants' history the past 15 or so years while picking toward the top versus middle and bottom. I think there is some significance. But having a solid scouting crew is very important. Poor scouting can squander a good ability to pick well. And what I do think makes the baseball draft different from the NBA is there has to be a lot of development. That makes it a lot easier to screw up a player before he ever makes it to the big leagues.

Is Moronta a mop up guy now? Why is he in there in a 10-1 game?

He has been losing his control, and pitching from behind all year. He's not as sharp as last year, when I thought he was a potential closer. He still is a potential closer. But his command is off. Perhaps he is working on secondary pitches.

Longoria with a Bondsian game tonight...both hitting and with a great play in the field

Has he ever had a better game with the bat with the Giants? I can't recall any...

Jon Miller pointed out that it was his best game as a Giant. Hard to believe.

I don't think that's the approach this year. I think a better mindset is "they're playing really well right now, don't know that it will last. But, I'm glad they are watchable."

I'm cautiously optimistic that Beeduh will be a part of the future. And Anderson. And maybe Solano, Yaz, Slater, etc.

If trade pieces perform, they will lead to a few wins. That is good.

Smith, Watson, Bum, Belt, Panik, Sammy, PomPom, Holland all should be shopped as much as possible. I seriously doubt Sandoval would fetch a return enough for the Giants to consider. He hold much more value to the Giants than he would to any other club.

But Panda is blocked here, he should be in the lineup every day with a bat that's clearly working. I suppose if they deal Belt that problem is solved.

I was sitting even with the mound on 3rd base side, down low, so I had a side view of it, but couldn't tell if it would be fair or foul. Omg.was monstrous.

Edit: it just missed getting on the roof of that warehouse edifice.

If Longoria continues to hit like in this series, there may be some team that could be convinced to take on his contract. That would give Sandoval a clear path to regular playing time.
