Yards are great and all, but I prefer to look at points.

32 points is certainly an ass kicking, but it's not earth shattering.

USA Today:

Saints look Super in demolition of Cowboys

the Saints racked up a franchise-record 625 yards of offense.

They set an NFL single-game record with 40 first downs. That number almost matched the total number of offensive plays the Cowboys managed (43).

Ingram notched his first career 100-yard game, ripping off 149 yards on 14 carries.

Brees (392 YDS, 4 TD) completed 34-of-41 passes and was in such a zone that at one point he completed 19 consecutive passes, matching his franchise record.

New Orleans didn't allow Dallas to convert a single third down (0-for-9)

New Orleans had more first downs by itself than seven NFL games on Sunday had between both teams.

Drew Brees was responsible for more first downs (20) than half of NFL teams made in total during Week 9 play.

It's surprising Brees didn't pass for 400+ yards. Both Mannings, Rivers, and Stafford did. I'd expect Rodgers to do the same in December.

Brees threw for 392

what is surprising is the Saints rushed for 242 yards

"We proved we can run the ball," Graham said. "And if you're looking to win in the playoffs, you can't throw the ball 60 times."

thread on Cowboy Zone:

OP: "Was Rob Ryan really the difference? Cowboy's offense had nothing.....as if the Saints D knew what was coming. I don't put it past the Saints for wiring the place up or intercepting signals. Thoughts????"

first reply to thread: "NFL Coaches vs. an intern and a relic."

reply to that: "Lol - wish there wasn't some truth to it"

The cowboys are a bad team. This shouldn't surprise anyone.

The number of points scored carries far more weight in this argument than yards. If we're talking about biggest NFL blow-outs in general, this game doesn't come close.
