And yeah Walker was no bueno but still the pen only gave up 2 runs in the last 5 innings including keeping the ghost runner from scoring and pitched a tense game, used 7 pitchers total, the others were all pretty solid (not Beck). Doval was nasty.

I know most baseball nerds like us hate it but I really have zero problem with it. Never liked boring ass regular season 16 inning games. Wrecks bullpens for what? So they can play a game in front of 3000 fans at 12:15AM? And they don't use it in the playoffs exactly as they should, THAT'S where.16 inning game belongs.

Also I know RBIs aren't supposed to matter but I'm old enough to think some guys just have a knack like Flores this year and that matters for winning, 48 of em on a team that only has 264 total runs scored...gonna give him some propers

When the NL adopted the DH, I knew eventually I’d be ok with it and I am. But I seriously doubt I’ll ever be ok with Manfred ball. I’m probably on an island.

I keep thinking of all the sabermetric work Eno Sarris did on trying to find the “clutch” trait. He did exhaustive work on RBIs and seemed to conclude it’s just random. That seems right to me, but I dunno.

And after the 16th inning game the next night the pen is spent and you lose because of it, artificial nonsense...and what if you're in a new city, your pen is toast the opponent is rested. It's dumb in the regular season, I like the rule change
