And he got a hit off Downs too, he's no slouch from the left side.

Yeah, he hits lefties pretty well. That added to the lunatic fringe's displeasure when Pill ended up hitting poorly in his starts against lefties.

So this Peter Bourjos guy seems like a good comp for Gary Brown. He's a tenth round draft choice, btw.

At one point, the Lunatic fringe was convinced Pill was a better prospect than Belt.

Giants have had their chances. THey are 7 for 27 with RISP this series so far. Tonight only 3 for 14, and one of those hits only moved the runner from 2nd to 3rd.

They needed one big fly.

Not the stat nerd component of the fringe.

Just the ones that look at BA and assume that's the end all be all of the story.

Don't get me wrong, Pill has the potential to be a jack of all trades guy. Kind of like DeRo, hopefully minus the wrist issues. But he has a lot of work to do on that swing if he wants to stay in the Bigs for good.

I didn't see any technical flaws in his swing. He just didn't connect with the ball very often. That seemed to be more about pitch recognition and a lack of talent. Pill was always going to be a long shot to stick in the majors. And, as tough as it was on Belt to get sporadic playing time, it was ten times harder on Pill, since was never going to get 200 AB of failure before he got shipped out.

Dogs lose 3-0 to the I's

Snakes and M's tied 9-9 in the 10th

Ah, the hell with it. Nice pitching, Clay. Really awesome job.

If he gets it out of his system in a game like this, I'm ok with it.

Mattingly pulls his starters too early. Harang down 0-3 in the 4th, 1st and 2nd, 2 outs...and pulls him? Unless he's hurt, that's bad. He did it to Billingsley too earlier in the year and he hasn't pitched well since.

Caught this on the radio on the ride home. Harang had 8 walks?!
