Ugh...the usual bullshit anemic offense for a day game.

I PHUKING KNEW we'd make Hendricks, who sucks, look good.

Bivens is pitching his heart out but this game feels doomed.

Phuking day baseball...sucks
Phuking needing to use whole staff...sucks
Phuking Chapman...sucks.

Chapman is the whole phuking package today...mittfuckery, batdouchery...all leading to Bivens (who shouldn't even be in the majors) moundshattery.

I'm REALLY starting to detest Chapman.

You post these after every game I think...but I can't recall ever seeing the calls go the Giants' way to any major extent like this :tsk:

That was kinda my feel as well, but I didn’t want fan bias to cloud my opinion, so I started trying to look EVERY day to get a bit of perspective. I am still not convinced either way, but I am noticing a SSS trend.

I was legit surprised to see how bad the ump was for this game, though. It didnt seem THAT bad when watching the game.

Not knowing much about this X poster, two thoughts come to my mind as I look at cal's posts:
1. Does this organization track team win-loss records, in sort of the same way that websites like BBRef track expected win-losses? Meaning, do they show what the team's records would be if the umpires were much closer to 100% on the calls (or least where one team wasn't favored over the other on calls? I.E. the missed calls were evenly spread between the two in that the runs scored from them were nullified?)
2. How legitimate is this organization in scoring the umpires? Is it really fair and impartial or is there a bent to getting robo umps? I don't know anything about them so I have no idea.

Umpire Scorecard is relatively new, but I believe they are quite respected in the analytics community.

I don’t believe they perform any accumulation studies, however. I think their entire goal is publish the data, not analyze it. And making reports or presenting conclusions would fall under the analysis part, which, again, I don’t think they want any part of.

Here is the link to their home page.

I dug a little and found that you can filter by team, and the Giants have an almost completely neutral umpire favoritism rating this season (
