What can you say but...SWEEP ! Giants behind the gutty pitching performance from Bumgarner and the bullpen ,with HR pop from Crawford twice win all three games in the ATL. Today they win 4-1.
Bumgarner with almost 40 family members and friends in the park was fired up to pitch today. He had his good fastball striking out nine Braves on the day. He only walked one and gave up one run. He did show some nerves when he air mailed a bunt down past Belt at 1B but got out of a few jams and turned it over to the best bullpen in baseball right now. Three shutout innings from the pen and the Giants got some much needed rest for Affeldt and Romo heading into Pittsburgh.
The offense was supplied by the man some fans call Stamos. Crawford was spectacular over the weekend with the glove but his bat did some mighty talking today. In the 4th inning he hit a solo shot to right in a year when Giants hitters are leading the league in solo shots. In the 8th with the game still very much in the air he launched a second drive deep to right scoring Hicks ahead of him. Crawford was a Houdini with the glove and was the player of the weekend overall. His confidence level is sky high right now as the Giants head to Pittsburgh for a three game series.
Giants have won 5 in a row and 9 out of 10 in this fantastic stretch of baseball. They have the look of a team that wants more and today their greed paid off with the sweep. These are the good times where you wake up with a pep in your step, the sun is shinning bright , and the glass is always half full . The gas tank is full to the brim as they play this 10 game road trip.
A great weekend of Baseball where it ends with a Sweep of the Braves. Chop that !

Great way to kick off the road trip. The pitching absolutely dominated, and the power was all they needed. Homer in 11 straight games, haven't seen that since 2002.
