Alex Pavlovic CSN is reporting that Pence is going to be taking BP all week and then the Giants will be discussing his rehab assignment that will follow.

The mets need a back up catcher, so Hacktor would certainly be part of the deal. Also, I don't believe Sabean would over pay. He would walk away before overpaying. But Murphys bad start should drop his value anyway.

I am not convinced Murphy will get done, though. I think Ramirez is a more likely deal, with the Crew in self destruction mode now.

Agreed. Ramirez would make much more sense. But I don't like his glove either.

If we are to make a move, we need to cherry-pick from the cellar-dwellers.

Adrian Beltre, anyone?

I like Beltre. But will Texas part with him?

If Sabes/Evans go after Beltran, I will trust them, but his contract goes through next year while Ramirez is a FA after this year. Not sure I want to be on the hook for 34M to Beltre. Good idea though. He was a stud last season, so maybe his rough start is just a slump.

That looks like that is on Belt, not sHits...

Wasn't a great throw, by any stretch, but Belt is in there for his D (God knows he isn't hitting). He needs to pick that.

Texas is 8-16, and Yu Darvish underwent TJS in March, and is out certainly all of 2015, and likely much of 2016. They are going nowhere.

Beltre makes $16mm this year, and $18mm in 2016, and is a FA after that. They just might want to shed his salary. But can we afford him?

Plus, I doubt we have the prospects for someone of his caliber. Unless you're talking Heston and Susac.

I had to watch the Angels feed the last 3 games. Not a whole lot of baseball smarts in that booth. :nono:
