The mets need a back up catcher, so Hacktor would certainly be part of the deal. Also, I don't believe Sabean would over pay. He would walk away before overpaying. But Murphys bad start should drop his value anyway.

I am not convinced Murphy will get done, though. I think Ramirez is a more likely deal, with the Crew in self destruction mode now.

I am not sure of that. He is a major league catcher, and that is in demand. We are stacked at the position, so we don't see that, but it is true.

Could he, alone, fetch Murphy? I doubt it, but he would account for a good portion of the cost.

He might actually have more value in a deal for Beltre, though. Texas has a couple of scrubs currently catching for them. Maybe Hack and Crick for Beltre?

I'll agree with this because of his concussion issues. He's probably 1 more concussion away from being out of the game. You know GM's are onto that.

I just don't see any reason why he'd have any real trade value. Average behind the plate, the bat. Power has never come together, bat is far from spectacular. Health is also a MAJOR concern

Guess we will just disagree on this one. Which means we can either angrily quibble and exchange jabs or be friendly. Knowing you, we shall be friendly.

If Sabes/Evans go after Beltran, I will trust them, but his contract goes through next year while Ramirez is a FA after this year. Not sure I want to be on the hook for 34M to Beltre. Good idea though. He was a stud last season, so maybe his rough start is just a slump.

What is the story with Adam Duvall? He is ripping up the PCL again. Bad glove? Can't hit the Big Show breaking stuff? Too young yet?

His glove is simply not MLB available. Think Jesus Guzman-bad.
