I agree 100% with every point made here.I still think we got completely fucked at the end of the Nashville game and Hakstol, while he should not have challenged, does not ultimately factor into that. Referees simply cannot call two penalties on one shift against the same team with under three minutes left in a tight game unless they are both extremely egregious, which was obviously not the case that time.
Also, they're right about the penalty you get from a false challenge. That completely defeats the purpose of even having the challenge. I mean, what the fuck!?!
The incredible response by our Flyers in the very next game helps prove the injustice of the previous game. What better way to respond to such an absurd, heartbreaking loss than to romp in the next one?
I agree with the article when they talk about Sanheim sitting and watching the game. I don't get it. We should be playing him in every game if he's healthy. Yes, there will be some growing pains, but he can learn and get past them. Let the kid play up to his potential, don't bench him.
It's not like Manning is some world beater in his place anyway and we can outscore a team after a defensive miscue if necessary. Sanheim is clearly going to be a far better player and may be already. Let him grow and improve.

Hextall yes, Hakstol still unsure for me. I really don't like the minutes Manning is getting this year. Don't love AMac and Weise either obviously, but those are not as egregious to me.

They should just do like the NFL-you lose challenge, you lose a time -out.
This god damn rule, definitely has to go.
That's exactly how it was last season, I believe. Unfortunately, we only have one timeout in hockey...Lol
So now that we have come down from the high of the home opener.....
Let's talk about the elephant in the room!!!!
Do we put up 8 goals with Holtby in the net, I'd like to think so. But in reality I don't see us burning Holtby this bad.....
Thoughts????
We have a very crappy record vs backup goalies in the last couple of years so it was good to see them get 8. They were tired and have a D that isn't very good but screw them we kicked their ass!!!! Im sure they didn't care that we got screwed vs Nashville so we dont care about them.So now that we have come down from the high of the home opener.....

This article does not shine any reality on the Preds game at all IMO. I think I could be a better writter for that column.

This is so true.Backup goalie, tired team from playing the night before, and a banged up D. Still, the Flyers definitely showed up 100% which was great to see regardless, much better than the team that sometimes has played down to its competition in past years.

Maybe not 8, but unless Holtby stands on his head I still think we put up 5. We came to play and it showed everywhere.
